Well we went home to Montana and Washington for a couple of weeks and I took some pictures of Montana but then my camera battery died and I didn't get any of Washington =(. We had a great vacation and it was good to be around family again.

We watched Tangled numerous times with the kids and they loved brushing our hair while watching it so they could sing the song. It was so cute.

Mom and Dad were the best hosts. Dad made his remake of "Gino's East" pizza.

I wanted to hike the M so badly, so at 9pm one night we went out for an adventure. It was the perfect night and the scenery was beautiful.

We met Grandma and Grandpa at the mall for lunch.

Mom's Birthday! We had a delicious dinner at Ciao Mambo and came home for cake and presents. Dad looks so excited.

We went hiking to Morrell Falls and the trail was packed with snow. As we got closer to the falls, we were hiking in snow in June. It was nuts!

Dave's neck was killing him by the end, but McKenna was comfortable!

And to reward ourselves after the hike we stopped at Lindey's- the only place I eat steak. It was delicious.

4 Years in the Making....

Get ready for picture overload. Who knew that we would actually make it to graduation day of med school? Four years seemed like such a long time but I can't believe how fast the time went. It was a beautiful day and a great day to celebrate with our parents and friends. I am so proud of Dave and for all the hard work he did to make it through! Wahoo!

It was a bad way to end such a great day but we had to say goodbye to everyone right after graduation. It was awful and very tearful but we left with so many good memories and we already have a reunion set up for November. Yay! These girls have been the most amazing friends I could have asked for. We have many fun trips ahead of us!

And to end the night, we stopped one last time at Kopps before heading to Michigan the next day. Dave and I comment all the time about how much we miss their custard.

Graduation Festivities

We were so glad that both of our parents could come out for Dave's graduation. It was awesome to have all of them there and although it was quick, we did alot and had a great time.

The night before graduation there was a dinner for all the graduates. It was pretty boring but all part of the graduation celebration.

It was a sad day moving out of our first apartment. This was our first home together as a married couple and we will always cherish the memories we had in that little apartment. It was the weirdest feeling knowing that we would not be coming back to it. As we were sitting in our empty apartment it was funny to look back and see how far we had come as a couple. Our first six months of marriage were very challenging and we went through alot and Dave put up with a lot of emotions from me. Thank goodness he stuck it out because we have come so far since then. We will always hold a special place in our hearts for 3175 N. 75th St. #2 in Milwaukee, WI.

A Brief Retirement

It was actually really hard for me to leave work- not because I was sad to quit working for awhile, but because I knew I would not find better co-workers than I had in Milwaukee. Luckily, I have been blessed to be working with more amazing people here in Michigan. My friends at M&I threw me a great going away party and I miss them lots.

Mr. Endl was a customer who came to see me everyday. He lost his wife a couple of years ago and he was a very lonely man, but the sweetest guy. He told me stories from when he was POW in World War 2, brought me lots of chocolate, and kept me company alot. He would come to me for everything- learning how to work his cell phone, helping him find his lost girlfriend, and all sorts of other things. I was glad to help him and we grew really close. I miss seeing him and hearing about his day. He told me I was the granddaughter he never had.

Cory was one of my favorite people at work. She reminded me alot of my Mom and made me laugh alot.

These were my Vampire Diaries crew. Jo and I were making a "V" sign, not a peace sign. We spent many a Friday morning discussing the latest episode and getting together on the weekends to watch them together.

Jo and Janelle- the bankers I worked with. I'm sure we did more talking, blog stalking, and eating more than work, but we grew close and I miss these ladies and we have some great memories.

I decided to throw this picture in too. Dave grew really close to alot of his young men, particularly Danny Scaife. Dave helped Danny finish his eagle project and I was so proud of both of them. They put in countless hours to the project and Danny was a dinner guest in our house for many nights. Way to go guys!

The week before Graduation they had a dinner and dance for the graduating med students. We had a blast getting all prettied up and making it a night to remember. (I posted all the pictures in the wrong order-can you tell I don't blog much?).

After the dance, the Fitzgeralds went with us to George Webb's (basically a more ghetto version of Denny's) but who can pass up hot fudge sundaes and cheese curds at 1 in the morning. Not us.

On one of our last Sundays in Milwaukee, the Robertsons had us over for a final barbeque. We have made life long friends and we miss them too much. It was a fun night and little Nolan provided the best comment of the night. We will just leave it at that.

These next pictures are not pretty to look at, but they still make me laugh. We had everyone over for Easter dinner and after dinner I was spinning Nolan and Luke in our office chair. They were having the best time, and we stopped after a few minutes of spinning. Jill took Lukie off and sat down on the chair and put him on her lap. Next thing we knew, he had vomited all over her. I felt so bad, but I was dying of laughter. Luckily Jill was too. Poor guy, I felt bad but man it was funny.

Well Match Day didn't go quite the way we were expecting it. We already knew where we were going, but we went anyway and it was fun to see where all our friends ended up going. It was an exciting day and lucky for us we get to do it again next year! =)

Snowed In and Chicago

We got a HUGE blizzard in February. We woke up at 5:30 in the morning to see what the damage was outside and it was incredible. The streets were covered in 3 feet of snow and the drifts were taller than me. Dave was supposed to be to the hospital by 7, and there was no way that was happening. The city was in a state of emergency and no one could go anywhere until about noon. My work was cancelled so I stayed home all day and Dave was finally able to get to work around noon. Crazy winters in the Midwest!

Early in March, my brother Nicholas had training in Chicago so we met him down there for the weekend and Kristin joined us from Carbondale. We had lots of fun and laughs and were so glad to be together again.

New Year's in Carbondale

For New Year's we drove down to Carbondale, IL to see Kristin, Jason, Mckenna and Madison. It was so much fun! Mom and Dad flew in a day after us and we had tons of fun together. We played lots of games, ate lots of yummy food, watched movies, hit up the Dillard's sale on New Year's Day and went to a basketball game. We had a blast and were so glad to see where Kristin and Jason call home.

So I took the picture of this sign because this is the pedestrian crossing that was outside McDonald's in Carbondale. Compare that with the usual sign you see... Clearly these pedestrians are frequent eaters at McDonald's.

Since we stayed home this Christmas, we decided to go to Chicago on Dec. 23rd to see Wicked. It was well worth the trip! We had a great time riding the Subway to downtown, eating Garrett's popcorn and Gino's pizza, doing a little shopping, and seeing Wicked. We loved the play! Chicago was beautiful with all the Christmas lights. We had an awesome time.

Thanksgiving was a little different this year- we went out to eat with the Fitzgeralds and the Robertsons. It was a very relaxing day with delicious food. We met up with the Rabes and Fairbourns later for dessert. It was a great day we loved being with our friends. The next morning the girls got up early and went to the mall at 4am!! We were crazy but we had a great time.

Christmas in Milwaukee

This year we stayed home for Christmas which was alot different, but we had a good time. Thank goodness the Rabe's were home too so we had a fun time on Christmas Eve with them, making scones and having yummy food. Santa was good to us this year as usual and we had a very relaxing day. We had brunch with our neighborhood and vegged out the rest of the day. We decided to go to a movie later on and were planning on going out to eat afterwards but NO WHERE was open. We were shocked. So what did we eat for Christmas dinner? Dave had a can of chili and I had cereal. We figured it will be a good story to share with our kids someday.

Better Late Than Never

Did I mention that we are moving to Ann Arbor, MI? Cuz we are. Dave will be doing a one-year surgery rotation at the University of Michigan and then we will figure out where our next move will be. Not exactly how we planned/expected things to go but we are excited to see what the other side of Lake Michigan has to offer! Dave graduates on May 20th and we are out of here the next day. I am excited for this next phase but also very sad to leave our amazingly awesome friends. We can't believe how fast med school has gone. It's been a great experience and we have loved every minute of it (well maybe not EVERY minute) but we have been extremely blessed. And the best part of this move? Dave will be bringing home a paycheck for the first time in our marriage! Wahoo! And I get to take a little "break" from work. I wish I could be celebrating my retirement, but all in due time I guess. Time to pack.... yay....

Door County, Take 3

We love Door County. It is a beautiful place to visit and we were lucky enough to go up there the weekend of my birthday with the Fitzgeralds and the Nances. Here is a recap of our weekend:

While the boys were at their Priesthood session, we girls had our own fun. The cabin is in the middle of the woods and it is complete darkness at night time. We decided to dress up and go stand in the middle of the road to scare the boys when they were driving home. Yeah we just ended up scaring ourselves but we got alot of good laughs from it. (Yes, Sarah is holding a knife, Haley a fire stoker, and I am just looking awesome in my snowmobile helmet.)

Kerri got married in October! The Anderson's are all married off. She married Chris Bell and we love him. He is a great addition to the family and keeps us laughing. It was a beautiful wedding and the whole family was able to be there and it was an awesome experience to have our whole family together in the temple. Congratulations Kerri and Chris! We love you!

My sister Kristin was very brave in September. She decided to make the 8 hour drive to Milwaukee to visit us for the weekend. It was SO much fun to have them here and we had a great time. We went to the mall, to the Zoo, to the park, and got some custard. I loved seeing McKenna and Madison and hanging out with Kristin. So glad she lives a little bit closer now.

State Fair 2010 did not disappoint. We had so much fun hanging out with the Fairbourns, Robertsons, and Haley (Judd was doing an away rotation). What did we do at State Fair? We ate everything imaginable- krispy kreme hamburgers, cream puffs, deep-fried apple pie, deep-fried PB&J, deep-fried Oreos, turkey leg, flavored milk, pizza, and so many other fried things I can't even remember. But it wasn't quite as bad as you think because we each just took a bite and passed it around. Wisconsin sure does know how to do their fair.

This past August my whole family was able to get together for a few days and enjoy the beautiful summer in Montana. We had so much FUN and crammed in ALOT during our short stay. Well I have no pictures to post for July other than this one. This place caused Dave and I to be separated for a full month! It was awful! Dave went down to San Antonio to do an away rotation in Orthopedics and since I am working I had to stay here all by my lonely. It was definitely not a fun month for either of us but I feel blessed that I was kept safe here and that Dave had a good experience in San Antonio. I am so glad that it is over and that we don't have to do it again. Distance really does make the heart grow fonder. I missed him way too much.

June was a busy month with one major event for me- my graduation! Although I hadn't had classes for a few months, I still walked to make me feel like an official graduate. It was a good feeling and I'm glad I am done. After my graduation my great friends were at Cheesecake Factory to help us celebrate.

We were in a hurry to get out after the ceremony, so this is the shot of us celebrating.

Next event for the month of June was Miss Haley's birthday. She's getting pretty old so I won't even disclose her age. Just kidding she turned 26- I just like to remind these girls that I am the youngest. We went downtown to a yummy Italian restaurant and then took a walk down by the lake to check out some of the air show that was going on.

I love this picture because Haley and Jill look like a two-headed monster. A very cute two-headed monster though.

It makes me so sad to think that this was probably the last birthday dinner we will have for Haley- at least for awhile. Who knows though! I do know one thing- these ladies will be greatly missed.

We also went to Pasco for a quick trip before Dave left for Texas, but I didn't take any pictures! I'm so mad. But it was a fun trip and so good to see Dave's family. We can't wait to see them again!

May was a fun-filled month. My best friend from high school, Stacey, got married and I was one of the bridesmaids so I got to go home for a long weekend over Memorial Day. Kristin and her girls came up with me and then Kerri came up later. It was so much fun.

Dave has been loving the golfing weather and I made it out a couple of times with him.

St. Maarten

In February, I had the chance to take a trip to St. Maarten with my parents and Kerri. This was my graduation present and since Milwaukee in February is all but pleasant, I decided to take them up on their offer. We visited St. Maarten when I was a junior in high school and it was one of my favorite trips. This trip definitely did not disappoint, although I did miss Dave. But we had chat dates at night since calling to the States was way too expensive. Here are some pictures of the trip- for some reason all the pictures from my camera turned out awful, so that's why there is not that many.

Parasailing!! After like 10 years of trying to talk my Dad into letting us go parasailing, it finally paid off! It was a blast- it was a little overcast but still hot. It was the coolest/weirdest feeling. I was a little nervous in the beginning but loved every second of it.

Done and Done

Well, I can now say that I am officially done with my college career. I didn't finish quite the way I had planned or when I had planned, but I finished. I am soooooooooo HAPPY!! Thanks to 3 years at BYU and 1 year at Ottawa University, I now have my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. There will be no more papers, no more night classes, no more homework, no more boring classes with people who don't know WHEN to STOP talking, no more late nights, no more sneaking in homework at work, no more buying expensive textbooks, no more logging on to Blackboard, no more buying snacks at vending machines to help me stay awake...no more SCHOOL! It feels so good to be done. I'm not quite sure what I am going to do with all my time now. Here are some of my thoughts: try and improve my cooking skills, tennis lessons, crafts, using my new sewing machine that is still in the box, volunteering/becoming a mentor, and I'm sure I will fit some T.V. in there somewhere. I don't really plan on using my degree in Psychology anywhere in the near future, I will stick with my job for now. Maybe someday down the road I will have the desire to go back to school and get my Master's... Yeah.... Maybe.....

Thanksgiving and Such

Thanksgiving this year was so much fun! My parents and Kerri decided to fly out and spend the weekend with us. It was so good to FINALLY have some visitors and to give them a glimpse of our life out here in Milwaukee. We packed alot in over the weekend. They flew in on Thanksgiving Day so basically we just ate and relaxed. We also had our friends the Fairbourns and Fitzgeralds join us for the feast and it was all great food. The boys even helped with the dishes! (see below) The guys played lots of Rook and the girls relaxed, watched Miracle on 34th Street, and mapped out our route for the Black Friday sales.

So Friday after a day of shopping we went to downtown Milwaukee and went to the 'Christmas Carol' play at the Pabst Theater. They had a beautiful Christmas tree in their lobby so we had to have a little photo shoot.

The play was so much fun. The acting and set were so good. It was a great way to kick off the Holiday Season. Thanks for coming out Mom, Dad, and Kerri! I will always remember all the fun times we had. Hope you can make it out again SOON!

So the Saturday after Thanksgiving we decided to go down to Chicago to see the decorations and to do a little shopping. Neither of my parents had ever been there and Mom was dying to see Michigan Avenue. We left bright and early and had a fun day seeing Chicago. It was a perfect day to take it all in.

So on our wanderings down Michigan Avenue there were two ladies outside wearing these big fur coats and they told us we HAD to check out their store. So we did. Upstairs there were these crazy, huge, expensive fur coats. The owners were so nice they let us try them on and let us take pictures (knowing very well we had no intention of buying anything). They were so fancy. We decided to try our shot at modeling.

Mom wins best model. She's already been recruited. Me? I gave up my contract a long time ago....Haha.

Macy's was decorated so pretty! It was just like off of a movie. Kerri and I got our make-up done and browsed the nine floors. We love Chicago.

Christmas 2009

Christmas this year was awesome. We spent Christmas with my family and then went over to Washington for a very quick trip. We were supposed to stay there through New Year's but the weather wasn't cooperating so we had to come back early. Sorry Barbers! We wish we could have stayed longer. But despite the weather, we had a great trip home.

Before we left for home I surprised Dave with his Christmas/Birthday/Anniversary/any other occasion present. For the past two years Dave has been complaining about our TV, so about 8 months ago I started saving. I was planning on saving it for his birthday, but I cracked one night because there was a good deal. So, he got his present early and I must say I love it just as much as he does, if not more =) Now I'm just trying to find a sofa/console table to go with it....

"Is It Somebody's Birthday?"

Well the best day of the year has come and it has gone. =) My Birthday was awesome this year! I was excited to turn 23 and was expecting to just open presents, go out for dinner and hang out on the actual day. To my HUGE surprise, Dave had a birthday get-away planned. We went down to Chicago Friday night and stayed at the Marriott down there (thanks Christoph for the hookup!). It was so much fun! I love big cities- well I love to visit them I should say. It's a totally different feel and everything seems so exciting. We didn't get down there until about 7:30 so we walked around downtown on Michigan Ave for a little bit and then ate dinner. I didn't take any pictures of Friday night because it was cold and rainy and I didn't feel like getting wet. It was a blast though. We shopped all day on Saturday- it's amazing how much money I could've spent. I found some cute things with my birthday money and could've spent ALOT more! So the tradition continues. Jill, Haley, and Tiffany took me out to California Pizza Kitchen (AKA CPK). I love this place. We had a great time but we were really struggling with pictures that night. NONE of them were turning out cute. What is happening to us? So as promised, I posted them in a smaller version. Thanks girls for taking me out and for the funny memories, and Haley thank you for the now infamous quote. =)

Numero DOS!!

So as some of you may remember I ran my first Half Marathon last summer. I thought I would probably do another one sometime again, and I did. My friend Jill talked me into doing one with her and I'm glad I did. We ran the Lake Country half marathon in Oconomowoc. It was only 30 minutes away and such a BEAUTIFUL run! It made it go by so much faster. I was very nervous the night before the race because I contracted a cold a couple days earlier and the night before I was not feeling too hot. But I woke up and felt pretty good. The day after the race was a diferent story. We had a great run, but I am glad it's over!

Time: 1:49:16 (my goal was to break 2 hours)

Ranking: 8th Place (my age group)

Dave was so kind to be our chauffeur. He opted out on this race and every race to come. Last year's race was his max.

And these ladies made the race AWESOME! Tiffany and Haley were there to cheer us on. They came bright and early at 7am with these AMAZING and CUTE signs. They are so great. They followed us at different points throughout the race and gave us motivation to keep going.

They blew up pictures of our heads and glued them to sticks. It was hilarious.

Quick Trip

So in the middle of August I made a quick weekend trip home to see my whole family (Except for nicholas and Courtney who couldn't make it! ) But Melissa and her whole fam came up from Texas so I decided to make a quick jaunt home. It was so much fun, but it was FREEZING! And of course the one weekend I leave Milwaukee, it is one of the first nice weekends they had all summer. Oh well- I still loved being able to go home.

My brother Michael is one of the most hard-core Republicans I have ever met, so as a little joke we placed this bumper sticker on his van. He didn't notice for over a day, and drove the van around town-even to church. It was hilarious. Maybe he's a secret Obama admirer....Yeah right.

What perfect timing! The Fair was going on at the weekend we were all together and if anybody knows my family, we LOVE the fair. It is a summer tradition and I'm so glad I was able to be there for it. But let me remind you how COLD it was. It was in the 50's in the middle of August. I cannot remember EVER going to the fair wearing winter coats and bringing blankets to watch the rodeo.

Dad was such a good sport holding all our coats and purses while we went on the Zipper. I went with my Mom and we had so much fun! I forget how much I love that ride.

I have always wondered what I might look like when I'm pregnant....

Alot of our cousins were in town as well so we had a big BBQ with everyone at my parents' house. It was so fun to see everyone.

Fourth of July Festivities

Fourth of July was so much fun this year. Bob and Alyse, Dave's brother and wife, came into town for the day and stayed the night with us. We went to Cheesecake Factory, went mini-golfing, had a BBQ with our neighbors and played games. It was so fun to have visitors and to hang out with them again! Here are a few pics of the weekend.

Summerfest is so much fun. It's the largest music festival in the world- tons of bands come and play- this year there was Kenny Chesney, No Doubt, and others but I can't remember them right now. =) We listened to Gavin DeGraw and it was lots of fun. This was on July 3rd and they had a huge fireworks show that lasted for one hour! It was a little long, but still fun to be down by the lake.

We had the best trip to Hawaii! Everything was absolutely perfect. The weather, the activities, the food, the company, everything. The only bad part was when we had to leave. It was perfect timing because we left the day after Dave finished his boards. It was so fun to finally spend some time together- and I can think of a better place to do it! Here are some of the pictures from our trip!

Golfing Trip to Lanai

Saturday morning we got up bright and early and took a ferry over to the island Lanai where the boys golfed two courses. It was one of the highlights of the trip for everyone.

This is a tree that has like a million roots coming out of the ground but it's all one tree. It was pretty cool.

For the morning, Heather and I decided to let the boys golf 18 holes and to stay at the Four Seasons Resort beach. It was a good choice on our part. They thought we were guests so they set up our chairs, an umbrella, brought us towels, gave us pineapple and let us use their beautiful beach. It was such a fun morning- and we met some very interesting dolphin chasers. They literally sat on the beach and meditated for the dolphins to come to shore. It was hilarious, but it must have worked- like 20 dolphins came 40 feet from the shore. We wanted to go out and swim with them, but we had to head off to meet the boys for the 2nd round.

This was such a beautiful course. It was called the Challenge at Lanai. Bill Gates had this whole course shut down and he got married on the 13th hole. It had the most amazing view. We couldn't take enough pictures.

Shannon was such a trooper- Even in the heat, she went and searched for lost golf balls.

Pictures really don't do the view justice- this is one of my favorite shots.

I think this is the place Bill Gates got married but I'm not positive. Either way it was beautiful!

Surfing was so much fun! We went out in the morning and rented some boards for a couple of hours and had a blast! The first day it was a little rocky, but we got up. The second day we were like pros. We were a little sore- it's hard work! We felt like real Hawaiians riding the waves.

He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not

He TOTALLY loves me! Dave is the best husband a girl could ask for. I was at work and in walks the UPS man carrying a long box. He brought it to me and asked me to sign for it and lo and behold, my name was on the box. I was thinking if I had bought anything online recently, but I knew I hadn't so I was completely SHOCKED when I opened it and found 2 dozen beautiful Roses! It made my whole day, week, month, whatever! It's the first time someone has ever sent me flowers through the mail! It was so much fun to get! He is so amazing- despite all the stress he has with studying for Boards, he still finds time to remember me and makes me feel so loved. He is the best. I don't know how he does all he does and still keeps a sane mind. I tell him everyday that if I had to study as much as he did, I would cry everynight. He figures he will have logged about 86 hours of studying this week, but luckily his test is on Wednesday and then we are off to Hawaii for a week! Yay! It will be so good to spend some quality time together again. I love you so much sweetie! Thanks for always thinking of me!

Well Bob tied the knot over Memorial Day weekend, which is why we took the trip to Utah. It was a beautiful day and everything was so nice. Alyse looked beautiful and I am so happy she has joined the family. They are a great couple and we can't wait to spend some more time with them! Congrats you guys!

This was my first time in the Salt Lake temple and my first wedding that I've attended and I loved it! It was so good to remember what our wedding day was like and the feelings that I had that day.

I absolutely LOVE my sisters! Some of my favorite memories are with these girls. Everytime we get together there is no question as to whether we will have a good time or not. This trip was no different. We PACKED it in! We did so much! Most of it had to do with shopping of some kind, but every moment was so fun. I hadn't seen Melissa in over one year (it better not be that long ever AGAIN!) and so we were all so glad to finally get together again. Kristin was nice enough to let us crash in her home. We found lots of good bargains, ate lots of good food, went through a session at the Salt Lake Temple, and laughed all the time. I don't think we got to bed the whole weekend before 1:30. It was such a great trip and I can't wait to see them again! Love you all!

Who can forgot about our AMAZING Mom! We couldn't ask for a better example for us and besides that, she always leaves us laughing! We love Tom! =)

We were able to go on a VIP tour of the new Oquirrh Mountain Temple because Kristin's husband Jason helped do some work on it through his work. It was so beautiful inside and out!

Door County Weekend

So it was pretty last minute, but two of Dave's young men has a family cabin up in Door County. They were out of town for the weekend and asked Dave if we would like to use it. We cleared our weekend called up some friends and decided to make a weekend out of it. It was so much fun to get out of Milwaukee and hang out with our friends. We had a blast.

We went to the one bowling alley up in Door County and it was tiny. It was really old and old-fashioned. I bowled a 100 both games so I was pleased with my consistency. The boys had a championship and the losers had to do pushups. Dave won one of them and monitored Phil and Judd.

After breakfast we walked down by Lake Michigan. It was freezing down by the lake and it was crazy because part of it was frozen over! This lake is huge and it was weird to think this is the same lake we go to in Milwaukee- three hours away.

I know, we're soooooooo cute =)

We ate breakfast at a Swedish restaurant and it was so yummy! I had to eat through all of the whipped cream to get to my pancakes, but don't worry, I made it through!

April Conference

My Mom and I were able to go to the Sunday morning session of Conference. It was so good to hear such inspiring messages. It was a great way to end my weekend.

The whole gang! Well almost, Dave wasn't with me and we were missing Melissa and her family. There were definitely some empty spots that simply couldn't be filled without everyone there! But we will get to see them in May!

The girls all hung out while the boys were at Priesthood. Those are always a wild 2 hours!

Some of my Aunts and cousins were also down in Salt lake for Conference so we took a group shot together while we were all there.

Grandma watched everyone's stuff while we wandered around. This was the hangout spot while we waited for the boys to come back. And don't worry- my Aunt Nancy whose lap I'm sitting on is not really in a wheelchair. She was just occupying it for the moment =)

For the Saturday morning session I went over to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and watched the session with Dave's parents, Brad, Bob and Alyse. It was great to see them again and can't wait to see them again in May for Bob and Alyse's wedding.

Conference Weekend Day 1

Dave is 26 years old!! Man he is getting old! Good thing he has me to keep him young right? Just kidding honey! We had a great time celebrating his birthday. It was kind of a low key day because it was a Fast Sunday and all but we still made the most of it. I took him to Outback the night before with some friends so we did a little celebrating all weekend!

I made him his favorite birthday dessert- Banana Cream Pie. I think it's my new favorite too!

This little girl Kate is our neighbor and she LOVES Dave. It's hilarious. She is convinced she will marry him when she gets older. Too cute!

Not Quite Sure What to Think About This...

Alright so let me give you some background information before I get into this post. About a year ago, I went to another branch within the bank to help out because they were short staffed. I was there for two days. While I was there, I helped a certain man (AKA my stalker) and apparently left quite the impression on him. When I left he asked a co-worker of mine who I was and where I usually worked. He asked him all sorts of questions about me (nothing too weird )and my coworker answered because he didn't really think anything of it. Well ever since then, this guy has been coming into MY branch (which is about 20 minutes away from where he usually went). He would always come to me and talk to me in a creepy voice, but again he never asked me anything too weird or made any over-the-line comments. But I did tell Dave his name just in case I ever go missing =) Anyway this has been going on since then and I try to avoid him at all cost and if I do help him I just am very quiet and don't answer his questions elaborately. He always asks me when I work because he wants to show me his dog. Well one day, I helped him through the drive-up and I gave his dog a biscuit.

Okay, so this past week he comes in and of course comes right to me. He hands me his deposit and then give me this envelope and says "Someone wanted me to give this to you" He said I could wait to open it until my break (yeah right) and as I took it I got pretty nervous because it was alot heavier than just a card. So after he left and I opened it and this is what it was:

The card says, "Dear Kelsey, Thank you for giving me a dog biscuit the last time I came to your bank. Your friend, Lilly.

And that coin is a silver dollar coin. When I got it I had no idea how to react. Apart of me was even more creeped out than before, but then another part of me felt really sorry for this guy. He obviously is lonely and doesn't have a lot to do with his time. I feel kind of bad because I am not always the friendliest because I don't want to give him a wrong impression. So now I am just going to be nicer to him, but still be careful and if things start to get weird, I will definitely take action. He did ask when my birthday was so maybe I'll get something even better =) Just kidding. Kind of sad though. That's my story.

A Couple Dinner Dates

I love Valentine's Day! Probably because I have the best husband in the world and he always out does himself. We decided to go out the night before, so Friday was more like my Valentine's Day. Dave decorated the inside of my car with cute valentines and treats and then brought me some roses at work. He is the best. We then went out to where else- the Cheesecake Factory- for dinner. It was awesome. On actual Valentine's I made a nice dinner and we had a great evening together.

Skiing in Beautiful Montana

We were hoping to go skiing on New Year's Eve, but the weather wasn't looking too good so we decided to postpone. We woke up on Saturday and it was a beautiful day so we decided to go for a half day up to Snowbowl. It WAS beautiful, but wow it was cold!!!!!! It was so cold up on top of the mountain. It was literally zero degrees on top of the mountain and with the windchill, who knows what it felt like. I have never experienced the true meaning of a brain freeze. It was so fun to get out and go skiing, but man I can't remember a colder ski trip. Thanks for taking us out Dad!

So bless my Mom's heart- she kept this Gingerbread house for4 years. I made it when I was a senior in high school in a Cooking class and she KEPT it! She even kept it when they moved houses. She asked me if I wanted to take it home with me, but I decided not to. Hard decision =) It had more to it , but it was mostly broken so she took a picture of what was left with it so I could remember. It was a pretty awesome gingerbread house, even if the pictures don't do it justice. Probably the only time I will have made a gingerbread house from scratch.

Who is stronger?? I think that's how their arms stayed pretty much the whole match. But I think Dave could take him.... =)

When we got back from Washington on New Year's Eve, my brother Nicholas and his wife Courtney were there! We knew they were coming and couldn't wait to see them, but someone else showed up too! My sister Kristin and her baby McKenna flew up that morning and surprised everyone! It was so much fun to see them all again and we had a good time getting reacquainted!

We had a great time in Washington visting Dave's family. We played lots of games, ate some great food, and had an awesome time just spending time with his family. I am so blessed to have such great in-laws!We had a nice dinner at a fancy Seafood restaurant the night Bob's girlfriend Alyse flew in. She is a really cute, nice girl and we hope to be able to see more of her =)

We had to squeeze in some bowling over the break because we hadn't been in forever. Dave bowled well and I had a fairly decent run, but I have had better games myself!

Merry Christmas!!

Christmas break was so much fun! Dave flew into Missoula on Dec. 23rd and I flew in on Christmas Eve. I was so nervous about the weather and making all my flights but after many prayers, I made it to Missoula on time! I was so happy to see Dave again, my parents, Kerri, Christopher, Natalie and their two girls.

After eating good food we were all a bit tired and somehow I ended up being the couch. It was so much fun to see my parents new house- I love it!

WEll, we woke up about 7AM opened some sweet presents (I got a plane ticket to go to APril Conference in Salt Lake! Yay!) And then we decided to take our niece Kaitlyn sledding. It was alot of fun- it had been so long since the last time I'd been.

We got so many good presents! Dave got me awesome presents and we got a sweet new camera from my parents so now I hope to be better at taking pictures and staying on top of the blog! Merry Christmas 2008!

Super Saturday Crafts

This past weekend we had our annual Super Saturday for Relief Society. My calling is on the Enrichment Committee so I was in charge of putting it together. I had the wonderful task of making a 20" antique clock. It didn't sound too bad at the time. After all how hard could making a clock be? How wrong I was....AFter many tries with crackle paint and different colors, finding all the clock parts, finding the middle of the circle to drill holes, stenciling the numbers on the clock, and finding the right hands, I realized it was ALOT of work. But thanks to help from vinyl lettering websites and inputs from friends I put together a clock I was very proud of. One of our other crafts were decopage signs. I chose to do the Happy Harvest one since I don't have many fall decorations. It was so easy to do and cheap too! The best kind of project! =)

For the clock I took a little bit of a different turn than I had originally planned. I didn't do crackle paint and I went a little darker than the original ivory I was planning on. I painted the base coat a dark espresso and then sponged on a country tan color on the top. I was very pleased with how it turned out. Now I just need to figure out where to put it!

PUMPKINS!!

So last year we started a little tradition with carving pumpkins with our friends so we decided to carry it on this year. Phil and Tiffany had us over to their apartment and we had a great time carving our pumpkins and eating yummy treats. I went for a goofy looking pumpkin and Dave went with a BYU in his pumpkin. It was a great time. I love the fall and Halloween!

Well it was a GREAT birthday for me! Even though I am getting older, I still managed to have a good time. =) Dave was so cute and nice and got me great gifts, made me muffins in the morning and got me my favorite cereal. He even brought me flowers and cupcakes to my work! He got me fabulous presents along with others of you- and I loved them all. We finished the night off with a nice dinner at Claimjumper. It was the best birthday ever- but Dave is just glad this day is only once a year =) I'm already counting down the days til my next birthday...

If that wasn't enough my friends Jill, Haley, and Tiffany took me out to dinner at Bravo, an Italian restaurant and it was so yummy. I am so lucky to have such great friends and I love the time we get to spend with each other. It's always guaranteed a good time. Thanks girls!

Happy 22nd- Surprise!!

Well another birthday has come and gone and this little party definitely caught me by surprise. It was the day before my birthday and I was starting to feel like I was getting a cold. I went to the gym for a little bit and decided I just wanted to go home and take it easy for the night. I went to Walgreens on the way home to get some Airborne and Dave called me to see where I was. I told him I was on my way and I walked in the door and.....SURPRISE! All my friends were over at our apartment! I was definitely not expecting it! I mean I was in my gym clothes and not looking the cutest but it was so much fun. My friends Jill and Haley made some really yummy treats and Dave put up decorations and got me some balloons and ice cream for the party. He did an excellent job planning and thanks to Jill and Haley for completing the night! It was a great way to start off my birthday. Thanks honey!

I Got Tagged- 6 Quirks About ME

1. This happened just the other morning at breakfast- we were eating cereal and Dave was slurping his milk like nothing I have ever heard. I don't like to hear it too loud and was starting to get a little irritated which made it more funny to Dave.

2. I have a certain way I like to load the dishwasher. Bowls go up top, cups and glasses next to them, plates in a certain order, etc. So when Dave helps and loads it I often find myself reloading it to my liking.

3. Like Jill, I also hate going to bed with a messy apartment. It is the worst thing to wake up to. I must admit I don't always clean up everything but one thing that has to get done are the dishes. I hate waking up to that.

4. When I am driving, I always have to be in the line with the least cars. If there is one lane with two cars and three in the other I have to switch and be in the two car lane. Most of the time it doesn't make a difference, but I just like to feel like I save a little time=) Oh and my biggest pet peeve when driving- people who forget to turn off their blinkers!!

5. I have a strict routine in the morning that i follow: I have to do everything the same. AFter I get out of the showerI have to brush my teeth, then clean my ears, then apply my moisturizer, then comb my hair, then put on chapstick, and then blowdry my hair.

6. My clocks are set 13 minutes fast. I don't know why it's 13 but in my car, my watches, and my alarm clock are always 13 minutes fast. Why? I don't know- maybe I feel like I am not running as late....

Those are my 6 quirks, there are many more I"m sure. Now I tag.... My sister Kristin!

Our Summer Accomplishment

Well in about June, we decided to do a Half Marathon- didn't sound that bad at the time. Then we started training for it and man I realized how hard running really was and why I hadn't done much of it before this. As time went on it got easier. Our longest run was 10 miles and it was pretty hard so coming into this race I was a little nervous, so was Dave. We got up at 5 a.m. and drove two hours to the Cheesehead Half Marathon. This was our before picture. Nervous, clean, and ready to get it over with.

This was after we finished! We did it! The weather was perfect and it was flat road almost the whole road. I was proud with my time of 2 hours and 2 minutes. I ran the whole time, even though it felt like I was walking at times, and Dave finished a little after I did. We were glad to have it done. I don't know how people do full marathons. They have my full respect. I would do it again, but I need to let my left knee recover. It hurt really bad during the race and hurts worse today. Yay for us!

Can't Believe It's Been One Year

We decided to celebrate our First Anniversary by going up to Door County for the weekend. On our way there, we decided we had to stop at the famous Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers. We are officially Wisconsinites. We have visited their coveted field. It was nice, but I would not want to spend all day there =)

Door County is an awesome spot up in Northern Wisconsin on a little strip past Green Bay. It's like the Cape Cod of Wisconsin. It was so much fun and it had such cute little towns and shops. It was the perfect place to spend our Anniversary.

We went to this Scandinavian Restaurant for breakfast and they have real live goats up on the roof who eat the grass- it was hilarious! And the food was so yummy...
For our Anniversary dinner we went to a really nice restaurant and had a great meal, but the highlight was the dessert...it was the most amazing triple berry cobbler we have ever had. We still talk about it.
Playing on Lake Michigan- it's weird to think this is the same lake we have in Milwaukee- it's soooo big!
So we decided to rent a paddle boat and this is what they gave us. It was the oldest thing I've ever seen, but it was worth the experience=)
Sailing was awesome! It was so much and the weather was perfect for it.

Even though fireworks, ALL fireworks, are outlawed in Milwaukee we decided to light up some sparklers and have a little fun...Daring I know =)

We went down to Lake Michigan and rode our bikes around it. It was so pretty and a really fun ride!
We had to make it to a Brewers game over the summer and Dave's Med School played Marquette in a baseball game and so we got some cheap tickets. It was a great weekend!

Home Sweet Home

It was SO much fun being home! We crammed alot into the week we were in Missoula and had a blast while doing it. We hit the Dairy Queen, Out to Lunch, hiked the M, went boating at the lake, went to the mall, saw my parent's new house multiple times and had fun just hanging out with my family. I was so glad that I had Kristin and Kerri there, but we definitely felt a missing void with Melissa in Texas. Maybe next summer...

Boating at Salmon Lake was so much fun. We did go wakeboarding but we left our camera in the car and by the time we got it out, it was too chilly for me to get back in. I forget how pretty it is in Montana.

My last time at my house! =( It was so sad to think that was the last time I would ever stay in the house I grew up in. We will miss it, but it will be fun to stay in the new one and have lots more room. Goodbye Arlington Drive!

Hiking the 'M' was a must for me, so the morning we left to go over to Washington we woke up and hiked it. It was so pretty with the sun coming up and I got a little sad to leave Missoula.

Fun In Pasco

Being in Pasco was a lot of fun as well. It was nice to relax and hang out with the Barber family. We played lots of games, ate yummy food, and spent many hours out on the golf course. So many fun memories!

We went to the Columbia River Temple to do a session and it brought back lots of memories from our wedding. It was beautiful!

We Love the Wisconsin State Fair!!

Well Wisconsin does not mess around when it comes to their fair. It is HUGE. It lasts for about two weeks and they have every type of fried food you can imagine. They do deep-fried oreos, snickers, mac and cheese, cheese curds, pretty much anything you can think of =). But they sure do taste yummy. It was lots of fun and we got our fill of flavored milk, livestock, and fair food.

Nauvoo Trip!

We went to Nauvoo with our friends Phil and Tiffany. It was alot of fun and it was a good way to start out the summer. Nauvoo was a neat place, but the temple was definitely the highlight. I have never been in such a beautiful building.

Our comfy little tent. The campsite was actually pretty nice. They had bathrooms and showers, so we weren't roughing it too badly.

So on the way over, we had a little detour. We missed an exit, so we decided to turn around across the median. Unfortunately this was during the flooding, so the ground was quite moist. And we hit the mud perfectly. Our front tire got stuck and it was stuck good. We called AAA to get a tow truck and while we were waiting, this nice guy below came and pulled us out of the mud. He was really funny and we were so grateful to him. It was quite the adventure. We didn't get to Nauvoo until 1:00 am. Then we had to set up camp- it was a short night=)

We made the best out of the situation and got some good laughs over it.

Tornadoes??? What?

So two weeks ago we had the craziest weather. It would be beautiful in the morning and then at night it would get really stormy and these sirens would start going off which meant...tornadoes! I have never seen it rain so hard in my life. We got soaked running from our car to our apartment where we had to camp out in the basement for a little bit. We thought it was kind of lame staying in the basement, but then there was a spotting of a tornado like a mile away from us. Even the mall had everyone get in their shelter. Here are a few pictures of our basement stakeout.

These pictures don't do justice. The clouds are about 10x darker than the picture shows and the clouds were moving so fast toward us. It was scary, but really cool. Don't worry though-we survived!

These are some of the people I work with. Carissa is a fun girl (brown hair) and Jessica is my supervisor. We always have a good time at work. I feel so blessed to have a job that I like and coworkers that I love. We all went to a restaurant nearby to celebrate another coworker's retirement.

Some more of the girls. Linda is the one with the black hair in the back. This lady is definitely one of hte most unique people I have ever met- she wears fake eyelashes, and a fake hairpiece. She drives me batty at times, but overall she is a very interesting lady.

Fun Summer Night

We love having our bikes! It's so fun to go out and ride them at night. We rode them over to our friend's Judd and Haley's house and we had a little BBQ. It was lots of fun and it is so nice to be able to do things outside.

Some of our neighbors in the cul-de-sac have planted gardens along the side of their apartments so we decided to follow the trend. We planted tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, peppers, watermelon, zucchini, and other things that I can't remember off the top of my head=) It was hard work but it's fun to watch these little seeds go. We've had enough rain now we need some sun!

One Year Down, Three to Go!!! (Of Med School) =)

Well Dave is officially over with his first year of Med School! We can't believe how fast it flew by- and hope the others will go just as quick=) He did so well and handled everything beautifully. After hundreds of hours spent in the library and thousands of pages studied, we were ready to celebrate! We went to Outback Steakhouse with our closest M-1 friends and had such a good time. Good job babe!

After alot of food, and lack of sleep all week, these boys were ready for bed.

I even let him wear his cowboy hat to dinner- it was his night!

I Got a BIKE!!! Yay!!!

Dave is the best ever!! I have been searching for a bike on Craigslist for weeks now and this past week I was bound and determined to find one. I went to a few garage sales, found nothing and then on Friday I thought I found one. It was a really nice bike so I emailed Dave about it and he told me it would be too small. I was bummed, thinking I was never going to get one. Little did I know, he had something up his sleeve. I woke up Sunday morning and there was a FABULOUS bike with a sign on it sitting in our front room. I was soooooooo excited! It is in like brand new condition. No knicks, no scratches, it has a new seat- all for $25! Makes it even better. I was definitely not expecting it. I guess he kept going in to my email and deleting all the bike offers people were sending me. Tricky guy. It was so much fun and I can't wait til it gets warm enough to ride it. Now we just need to find him one...It was the best Mother's Day ever- I can't imagine what it will be like when I actually have kids!=)

After such a fun weekend, it was hard to say goodbye to everyone. Melissa and Mom had tickets to the afternoon session so I hung out with them before my flight left. It's always hard to go back to reality when you have such a fun time with no responsibilities. I would not have changed anything though. We packed a lot in and made so many great memories. Maybe we will just have to do it again next year....

Saturday Conference

Saturday was an awesome day. I had the great opportunity to attend both sessions and to be part of the Solemn Assembly and to sustain President Monson as our new prophet. It was such an incredible spirit and I will never forget it. After the morning session we all met in the ZCMI food court and ate lunch. Dave's parents and two brothers were there so we also got to see them. It was so fun to be with them, but we all missed Dave!

When we all get together it's always guaranteed to be a good time and this trip was nothing different. After having our traditional Friday night meal at the Olive Garden we ran a few errands to the Distribution Center in the Joseph Smith Building. Things got a little goofy and we had a lot of good laughs. We went back to the hotel and decided we all wanted dessert. So at 10:30 at night we dragged Dad out with us and we went to Macaroni Grill and all shared some yummy desserts. It was so much fun!! I love being with my family- I only wished Dave was there too.

Back Together Again!

We all met up at Zupa's for lunch. Man I forget how much I miss that place. It was so fun being together with everyone again. Then we went to Real Deals and got some cute home decorative things. It was alot of fun. We drove up to Salt Lake area and went to Cafe Rio for dinner and met up with my brothers Nicholas and Michael and his three kids. I miss Cafe Rio too=) THen we went to Michael's house to see our new niece Brooklyn! She is so cute and has such curly dark hair. We all headed back to the hotel and took a nice dip in the pool. Such a fun first day!

OH my goodness. I think April Conference is one of my favorite times of the year. I like October too, but April is just always so happy because it's Spring and I think everyone is just excited to hear what the prophet has to say after enduring a long winter. Well this Conference I was extra excited. Probably because I don't live near Salt Lake anymore and I got to see my family again! Oh how I took living close to them for granted. So I flew into Salt Lake on Wednesday night and my sister Melissa flew in Thursday morning. I spent the night at Kristin and Jason's new townhouse in Provo and went to BYU in the morning to meet up with my old roommate Vindie and to visit my old stomping grounds! I miss Provo so much- I never thought I really would!

Dave is back from Honduras! Yay! He got back early Easter morning. He had a good time but man, I missed him here. We had a great Easter day- even if there was still snow. We had a delicious meal with our friends Judd & Haley and Jake & Jill. We are so glad to have such good friends out here.

Dave's Birthday

Well Dave's Birthday was so much fun. I made him a sweet breakfast (blueberry muffins and an omelette) and then we went and ran some errands. After, I took him to the Currie Golf Dome so he could get his golf itch taken care of. He is an awesome golfer so it was alot of fun to watch. Even I took a swing at it=) Maybe I just picked up a new hobby too. We went to the outlet stores for a little bit and then went to Red Robin to get his free birthday burger. Yummy! I made him a banana cream pie (his tradition on his birthday) and he got a couple golf shirts, a golf pass, a golf handicap (whatever that is) a couple gift cards- so he did alright! It was so fun to just hangout with him for a whole day-it's been awhile!

Well, I was 11 years old and probably in the 5th grade. This was the period during my obsession with the Ewing twins and I was in Mrs. Kuchel's class. I played the violin but hated being in orchestra because I felt like a loser- but don't worry I was cool.=) I loved playing kickball at recess and my best friend was Alyssa Adkins, which I don't think Mom liked her too much. I was constantly turning down Michael Gordon. Once I told him I would go out with him for one minute over the phone. Wow, my problems were so big!=)

Things on my To-Do List today:
1) Go to Wal-Greens to buy granola bars
2) Finish work
3) Go to the Y
4) Make Dinner
5) Wrap up loose ends around the apartment
6) Wait for Dave to come home

What I would do if I were suddenly made a billionaire:
Well I would first put money aside to pay off med school debt. Then.... I would take a sweet vacation to Europe, probably a Mediterranean cruise. I would add a few clothes to my wardrobe, go out to eat and leave my waiter big tips and watch to see their faces, buy an SUV for later down the road, buy Dave some golf clubs that he desperately NEEDS, take my whole family on a vacation, go down to the soup kitchen or whatever place that is and give people money, visit sick people in the hospital and pay some of their bills, get my leg hairs lasered, go visit an African orphanage- There are so many things I would do I can't even think!

March is Birthday month around here so we had a pre-celebration last Sunday to celebrate all three guys birthdays- Dave's is on the 29th, Jake's was on the 6th, and Judd's was on the 1st. Jill hosted it and all the cul-de-sac came to eat yummy cake and ice cream. It was a fun night- but it always is when we get together. Happy Birthday guys!

So, this was our first Valentine's Day as a married couple and it was so much fun! Dave woke me up with a present- a nice soft robe from V.S. It is so nice! I wear it all the time- it's so comfy! We then went our separate ways for the day and during work I got a visitor. Dave came to visit me with a BEAUTIFUL bouquet of flowers. They were so pretty. Then he sent me a nice note through the tubes in the drive-thru. He did such an awesome job. Then it was my turn. I came home and made a "romantic" homemade dinner. A heart-shaped pizza! It turned out pretty dang good and we had a great night and watched Sleepless in Seattle. Since it fell on a Thursday, we decided to go out on Friday. We decided to try Bonefish Grill. It was really good and we got the best salmon ever! Thanks for the fun day sweetie! I love you!

So we have experienced our first winter here in Wisconsin and we thought the worst was over. We had sub zero temperatures for weeks-(20 degrees felt amazing)- we had a couple feet of snow and the city ran out of salt to keep de-ice the roads. Winter's coming to an end right? Wow, how we were wrong. In one day we got over 2 feet of snow. All the malls, banks (that was good for me!), grocery stores, everything was shut down. We have learned that people in Wisconsin might overreact with a "snow storm" but they got it right on this one. It was so crazy!

Don't let this picture fool you- we really are sick of the snow! We just try to make the best of it=)
All I gotta say is I'm glad snow is pretty.

I don't think the pictures do it justice, but I am standing in snow that is up to my thighs. And yes, it was still snowing.

Happy New Year 2008!!!

The whole Christmas break was so much fun and we capped it off with a New Year's celebration at Levi and Heather's new house. Their house is so cute and we were a little jealous=) They provided great food and it was so much fun to spend time with Dave's family. Some didn't stay until midnight, but we toughed it out by playing many games of Rook with Levi and Bob- I got pretty good if I do say so myself=) Happy New Year!

This is the kitchen hutch we found at a garage sale for $20! We refinished it, painted, and gave it new hinges and knobs. It was a fun project at saved us over $150! (Notice the remodeled version in the next pictures=))

At the Wisconsin State Fair!! This fair is unlike anything else. They had samples of flavored milk for a quarter a cup. They had deep-fried everything: oreos, snickers, twinkies, cheesecurds, and I'm sure lots more. They had livestock and the biggest horses we have ever seen. They were 9-10 feet tall. It was so cool. We bought this chocolate-covered banana and it was four dollars! We didn't know it until after we had it. It was a good, but expensive treat.

The Fair was definitely a fun experience. After walking around we went to the LoneStar concert. It was an amazing concert and they played all of our favorite songs. It was so hot and humid, like always in the summer, but it was worth the trip.
